2009 Premier Print Award, aka The Benny

The Castle Press is proud to announce our latest award. The 2009 Benny award for Best Point-of-Purchase Materials was received for our Mother’s Day Sweepstakes promotion for Juanita’s Foods.

Operation Mothers’ Day
When does a simple promotion turn into a major production? When our customer tells us they need to pull out all the stops for a spectacular Mothers’ Day event.

The idea was simple. Juanita’s Foods would promote a sweepstakes giveaway for Mothers’ Day. However, producing entry forms and a poster were not enough. This was going to be big. Materials to promote the event would include:

• Easel cards
• Flyers
• Coupons
• Ballot Box
• Entry Forms
• Catalog Envelope
  

All design was completed in-house by the Castle Press team. This fact was especially gratifying when it comes to the award of this year’s Benny. Of the 94 Bennys awarded, very few awardees both designed and printed their entries.

The Premier Print Awards has been held every year since 1950. Over the years it has become an international competition. This year, there were over 4,000 entries competing for the Benny awarded for each of the 94 categories.

2009 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards Announced

Printing Industries of America proudly announces the recipients of the 2009 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards. A total of 37 graphic arts companies, both members and non-members of Printing Industries of America, were selected by a committee of distinguished human relations (HR) experts from within the industry. The program is designed to recognize graphic arts companies for their outstanding human relations efforts which contribute to a successful workplace.

Since 2000, Castle Press has been recognized 4 times for the industry leading Best of the Best Workplace in the Americas Award. Additionally, the company has been awarded Best Workplace Award 5 times. Castle Press is the only company in the Americas that has received one of these two awards for 9 years in a row.
